How does RabbitCMS compare to OctoberCMS?
Both are built on Laravel, but RabbitCMS takes it further by pairing Laravel with Filament v4 for a modern, component-driven admin panel. We also place a much stronger emphasis on installation simplicity and a minimal-config-first philosophy that OctoberCMS does not fully embrace.
How does RabbitCMS compare to Grav CMS?
Grav is a flat-file PHP CMS with no database requirement, great for simplicity and portability. RabbitCMS is exploring a similar path: supporting both flat-file and database-backed storage so developers can choose the right model for their project, without being locked into one approach.
Will RabbitCMS use a database or flat files?
We are actively investigating both. The plan is to support database storage (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite) for full-featured deployments, and a flat-file mode for lightweight, Git-based, or serverless workflows - the same flexibility as tools like Statamic or Grav, but on a Laravel foundation.

Installation simplicity is one of our core design goals. We aim for a single Composer command to get a site up and running, with minimal configuration required. The target is a setup that takes minutes, not an afternoon of reading docs.

RabbitCMS requires PHP 8.2+, Laravel 12+, and Filament 4+. It follows modern PHP best practices and is designed to work on standard shared hosting, VPS, and containerised / cloud environments.
